Using your ladder safely

Updated

  • Check the ladder before every use. Don't use it if anything is damaged or missing.
  • Set leaning ladders at about 75° (1 out for every 4 up), on firm, level ground.
  • Only one person on a ladder at a time, and never go over the maximum load shown on the ladder.
  • Keep your body between the stiles and don't overreach. Move the ladder instead.
  • Keep three points of contact where possible.
  • Never stand on the top step or tray of a step ladder.
  • Don't use a ladder if you're tired, unwell, or under the influence of alcohol or medication.
  • Aluminium conducts electricity. For electrical work use a fibreglass ladder.
  • Remember your obligations under the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Always read the instruction manual on the product page before first use.
