Answers to the questions we are asked most about our podium steps, work platforms and staging boards.
What is the difference between the Industrial and BS8620 podiums?
- BS8620 Industrial Podium: certified to BS8620, with a self-closing gate and outriggers included. Platform heights 0.75m to 2.00m. Must always be used with its anti-surf plates; they can't be swapped for wheels.
- Industrial Podium: manually closed lockable gate, platform heights 0.75m to 1.25m. You can swap the front wheels for anti-surf plates for a more fixed setup.
How high can I reach?
Add about 2m to the platform height. The working heights in the specification tables assume a typical adult.
Can I use a podium on stairs?
Use the BPS Stair Podium. Its front and rear legs adjust separately (320mm and 580mm) so the platform sits level on the stairs.
Can podiums and staging boards be stored outside?
Yes. They are aluminium and won't rust, but a cover is a good idea for long-term outdoor storage.
Are staging boards certified?
Yes, to BS2037 Industrial, tested to 270kg. Handrail brackets are available, but the handrails themselves are not supplied.
Can I return industrial mobile steps?
No. Mobile steps are made to order, so please check the size and options before you order. See Made-to-order items: industrial mobile steps.
